What Should The Church Be Like

- Like a real family.
- Like the old Sunday dinners where the whole family comes together, but also like larger family reunions are experienced and cherished.
- Like full of love, but messy. Don’t always agree but live in unity.
- Like we are known and know, supply, and live among.
- Like there are no elites or VIP’s.
- Like we ask how do we disciple the individual not how do we disciple the masses.
- Like we care for each other and the world, and provide for each other
- Like everyone knows your name and everyone’s glad you came. Cheers.
- Like we live under a Kingdom form of Government with Jesus as King and His word as truth.
- Like we share life not a sermon.
- Like people leave the church gathering saying Jesus was great, instead of the sermon was great.
- Like the gathering is more about what we give then what we receive.
- Like Shepherds smell like sheep and the sheep smell like the field (harvest field).
- Like the Shepherd leads from the field not rules as king from the palace.
- Like the spiritual father raises the spiritual children not just instructs the children.
- Like engagement is more important than attendance.
- Like impacting the community/city is valued above personal ambition or comforts.
- Like the small things of life are celebrated.
- Like what the sons and daughters become is more important than the status of the father.
- Like orphans are replaced by sons and daughters.
- Like a family raises sons and daughters to maturity so they too can have kids and raise them to have sons and daughters of their own. And then do it again and again.
- Like multiplication is better than addition.
- Like thinking smaller produces larger.
- Like we play the game instead of just holding pep rallies.
- Like the gathering is not the church, but that the church gathers.
- Like we learn to love our true Father and walk in His spirit and obey His Son.
- Like actions are better than messages.
- Like we stop feeding the spiritual obese but release the body of Christ to share the abundance.
- Like mission is more important than the model.
- Like we find our best life by losing our lives in Christ to others.
- Like church compliments people’s lives instead of competing with people’s lives.
- Like church gives to the family not takes from the family.
- Like Jesus’s commands are more valued than the Church’s traditions.
- Like we catch fish by casting a net into the sea instead of the bathtub. (seeking out vs. inviting in).
- Like the intention is not for sinners to seek out the church, but for the church to seek out the sinner.
- Like my life fits into God’s story instead of God fitting into my story.
- Like we apply/conform our lives to the bible instead of applying/conforming the bible to our lives.
- Like our lives are not purpose driven, but commission driven.
- Like we don’t make the Gospel relevant to the world, but reshape the world to the relevant Gospel.
- Like instead of asking what mission does God have for me, we ask what kind of me God desires for His mission.
